Mexican Cuisine Proposed As A New Patrimony of Humanity |
Mexican traditional cuisine is one of the legacies and traditions that Mexico foresees including in the proposal for the Representative List of Immaterial Cultural Patrimony of Humanity before UNESCO, informed Francisco López Morales, World Patrimony director of INAH.
He also said that Bernal Point and memorable places and traditions of Otomi-Chichimecas towns located in the semi-desert of Queretaro will be added to the proposal.
He added that in order to define criteria and categories under which an inventory of live elements and manifestations will be created for the UNSECO list inclusion, more than 60 subject experts reunited this pass Monday 28 of August 2008 at the National Museum of History, also known as Chapultepec Castle.
The experts classified traditions, expressions and social knowledge that could be incorporated into the list. This included a related list for Immaterial Cultural Patrimony of Urgent Safekeeping
Morales pointed out the roll Mexico is playing in the protection and preservation of the live cultural goods that reflect the fact Mexico was elected in June of this year as vice-president of General Assembly of Part States in the convention on the subject.
